We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Protein Development group within the Therapeutic Proteins department. You will support purification & biochemical characterization of protein reagents.
As a Scientist, a typical day might include:

Conducting protein purification using an ÄKTA AVANT or Pure chromatography system

Carrying out LAL (limulus amebocyte lysate) testing for bacterial lipopolysaccharide endotoxin

Doing protein characterization of reagents by Western blotting, SDS PAGE electrophoresis, SEC chromatography, spectrophotometry, etc.

Conjugating protein reagents to biotin, fluorophores (e.g. Alexa & PE), & other tags
-
Performing antibody purification working in a team for small scale production in a fast pace setting

Conducting protein expression in E. coli, refolding of inclusion bodies, and developing methods of protein purification

Interpreting data & documenting findings in electronic notebook (ELN)

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience in protein purification/characterization. E.coli expression and purification are required. We need someone with a solid understanding of protein biochemistry. Must have hands on experience with Affinity, Ion Exchange, Reverse Phase, & Size Exclusion chromatography. Experience with automated liquid handlers is advantageous. Experience with Spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis & Western blotting is required. Additionally, experience with the solubilization, handling, & characterization of peptides is a plus.
