Who we are:

Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. Having advanced the first degrader into the clinic for immunological diseases, Kymera is focused on building an industry-leading pipeline of oral small molecule degraders to provide a new generation of convenient, highly effective therapies for patients with these conditions. Founded in 2016, Kymera has been recognized as one of Boston’s top workplaces for the past several years.

How we work:

  • PIONEER: We are courageous, resilient and rigorous in our mission to improve patients’ lives through our revolutionary degrader medicines.

  • BELONG: We recognize our differences, inviting curiosity and inclusivity, so that our people are valued, seen, and heard.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Develop and validate immune cell-based assays including whole blood, PBMC, splenocyte and other immune cells.
  • Design and execute ex-vivo functional assays to understand PD read outs for lead optimization
  • Contribute to the assay development for new targets in Inflammatory and Metabolic diseases.
  • Provide thorough data analysis and interpretation, including pharmacological validation (IC50/DC50), and present results at cross-functional project team meetings.
  • Implement standardization principles into assay design, QC, analysis and reporting in a Drug Discovery production setting.
  • Maintain good records of laboratory procedures and data.

Skills and experience you’ll bring:

  • MS degree in Cell Biology, Immunology or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience. BS candidates with extensive industry drug discovery experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of biological mechanisms towards novel assay design, development and execution.
  • Extensive cell culture experience with immortalized cell lines and primary cells. Experience with primary immune cell isolation, differentiation and functional assays, whole blood and flow cytometry is required.
  • Experience with multiple assay format and modalities, such as: endpoint (viability, apoptosis), phenotypic (live cell imaging), protein quantification assays (Western Blot, ELISA, MSD, AlphaLisa, HIBIT), PPI assays (NanoBRET, NanoBiT).
  • Experience with assays for metabolic diseases, such as glucose uptake assay, fatty acid oxidation assay, lipolysis assay is a strong plus.
  • Experience with assay automation and scalability is preferred.
  • Proven experience to work collaboratively in project team setting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with collaborative mindset.
  • Willing to learn and capable of learning new areas as needed by project goals.
