PepGen is seeking a highly motivated and talented Scientist to join our Bioanalytical and DMPK team. In this hands-on laboratory position, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating bioanalytical assays for preclinical and clinical studies. The individual will also perform DMPK experiments to support drug discovery and development, requiring strong HPLC separation skill and experience with Thermo QE+. The focus of the role is relatively open depending on the candidate’s experience, from discovery to clinical bioanalytical support.
About the Team
This Bioanalytics, DMPK team at PepGen will support all DMPK related activities, such as bioanalytics, biotransformation, PK/TK analysis, DDI etc, as well biomarker support.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate bioanalytical assays for quantifying small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides and proteins in various biological matrices using LC-MS/MS, ELISA, and other relevant techniques
- Develop and optimize bioanalytical methods in house and assist for CRO method development and trouble shooting
- Assist in PK calculation and analysis
- Design human ADME study to identify and characterize drug metabolites/catabolites
- Provide bioanalytical support for discovery and development research needs independently
- Analyze and interpret data and prepare reports. Present data and findings in internal and external meetings.
- Collaborate with other team members cross functionally to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies and troubleshoot any issues.
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and records
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biotransformation, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field with 5 years of relevant laboratory experience or PhD in the above related field
- Extensive experience in developing and validating bioanalytical assays for small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides and proteins
- Highly skilled in mass spectrometry (e.g. QqQ and HRAM), HPLC separation, ELISA, and other relevant techniques for bioanalysis, as well as in biological sample preparation such as protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction and SPE.
- Ability to troubleshoot and independently perform root cause analysis for method investigations
- Understand FDA MIST guidelines
- Familiar with PK/PD modeling and simulation approaches, know how to use Winnonlin
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Note: This is an on-site role. The candidate will need to be on-site five days/week.
