We're looking for a Scientific Affairs Lead to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?
Flatiron Health is a healthtech company using data for good to power smarter care for every person with cancer, around the world. Flatiron partners with cancer centers in the US, Europe and Asia to transform patients' real-life experiences into real-world evidence (RWE) and create a more modern, connected oncology ecosystem. Our multidisciplinary teams include oncologists, data scientists, software engineers, epidemiologists, product experts and more. Flatiron Health is an independent affiliate of the Roche Group.
What You'll Do
Flatiron is a pioneer in the high-quality processing of structured and unstructured medical data from EHR systems, transforming it into clinically relevant, longitudinal, meaningful RWE. Our data provides the foundation for evidence-based answers to important questions in oncology and supports a variety of research use cases including market access and regulatory decision-making.
In this role, you will be a member of the Network & Commercial Partnerships team, primarily supporting our work with life science companies in Germany. In collaboration with our Research Sciences and Life Science Partnerships teams across the globe, you will help to address key research questions across clinical development, market access, and commercial use cases in Germany and Europe.
- Your main focus will be to engage with our clients, predominantly in the pharmaceutical industry, to understand their evidence generation needs and how our capabilities can help meet those needs. Build strong relationships with key RWE stakeholders in the German and European affiliate organisations of pharmaceutical companies and support development and pitching of projects with them.
- Collaborate with senior researchers at our partner hospitals to facilitate the development, execution, and publication of research projects.
- Together with our Data Sciences teams, build an understanding of the current German RWE landscape, of how oncology evidence needs can be addressed, and of how to discuss and build fit-for-purpose RWE research methods/data. Support in conducting analytical work and represent Flatiron at conferences as well as through scientific publications.
- Liaise with HTA bodies as well as opinion leaders in order to strengthen Flatiron's positioning in the German RWE ecosystem.
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate, and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, you're an excellent communicator and strategic thinker with 3-5 years of industry experience. This role will be a part of our Germany team in Berlin.
- You have German language proficiency at C1 level, ideally C2, and C1 level for English.
- You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or in providing analytical products and services to pharma clients, e.g. through market access / HEOR consulting.
- You have specific domain expertise in outcomes research and RWE methodology, ideally in the field of oncology.
- You feel comfortable explaining and working with concepts such as propensity score matching, confounder adjustment, sensitivity analysis, and MAIC.
- You have a scientific background, ideally a PhD, in a quantitative and/or medical discipline such as public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, (bio)medicine, biology, or a related field.
- You are an exceptional scientific communicator with proven experience in delivering high-impact presentations and you enjoy pitching complex, high-value projects to diverse audiences.
Optional
- You have experience translating analytic specifications from a statistical analysis plan into R code to create analytic datasets, generate descriptive and inferential statistics, and visualizations, etc.
- You have experience working with EHR-based RWD.
