Description
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the successful marketing (sales, renewals, and/or service) of 51+ group accounts for products as defined by production quotas within assigned territory and assigned broker and/or consultants. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales.
Logistics:
This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm working on-site at 8901 Farrow Rd. Columbia SC, in an office environment.
What You Will Do:
- Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agents, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
- Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
- Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work Experience: 3 years sales and marketing.
- Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace.
- Effective presentation and customer service skills.
- Analytical or critical thinking skills.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.
- Licenses and Certificates: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.
What we Prefer you to Have:
- Work Experience: 5 years-customer service, provider network.
- Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of mathematical or statistical concepts.
- Software and Other Tools: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.
Work Environment: Typical office environment. May involve some/frequent out of town travel. Work may involve transportation of materials and periods of remaining in a stationary position.
