The BeLux Sales Team is one of the most successful sales teams of Robeco Wholesale. The team is responsible for wholesale and institutional clients in Belgium and Luxemburg and serves their clients from Robeco’s headquarters in Rotterdam. In this way the sales position offers you the best of both worlds: a sales office with strong roots in HQ ensuring a strong connection and fluid exchange of information with other relevant (investment) teams and the entrepreneurial freedom to travel, strengthen and expand our business in a neighboring region.

Position & Requirements

The ideal candidate for the role is an ambitious, entrepreneurial and highly talented team player and communicator, who is very service oriented and has proven understanding of the financial markets.The successful candidate will be based in Rotterdam and report to the Head of Wholesale Belgium and Luxemburg.Principle responsibilities:

  • Further develop the current wholesale and institutional business in Belgium and Luxemburg and build up your own network of business relationships
  • Co-organize and represent Robeco at local (client/industry) events in presentations, panel discussions and by addressing client questions at a stand
  • Analyze and address (prospective) clients’ needs, by servicing existing clients and prospecting new clients which mainly include Private Banks, Asset Managers, Independent Asset Managers and Family Offices in the wholesale client segment and mostly Insurance companies and Pension Funds within the institutional client segment.
  • Differentiate Robeco product offering from close competitors and the broad market
  • Have a good understanding of financial markets, financial institutions and their strategies; and consequently, be able to leverage the key specialists and cooperate with relevant members of the team
  • Help sourcing, assessing and developing new opportunities
  • Be able to demonstrate dedication to the company and colleagues and drive individual and team key performance indicators and contribute to delivering the team’s annual sales targets
  • Cooperate across departments with Investment Specialists, Portfolio Management, Marketing, Client Servicing and Legal & Compliance

Your profile:

  • You are a strong and passionate personality, enjoy working within a highly energetic and committed team
  • Preferably you have at least 5 years of experience in sales, (client) portfolio management or any other relevant client service-oriented department within the financial industry
  • You have experience or a strong interest & conviction in sustainability investing
  • You are highly engaged, proactive, goal-orientated and structured, and you have the ability to work independently
  • You are willing to travel several days a week to meet with clients and prospects
  • You are a strong presenter and communicator
  • You are a collaborative team player
  • You are a native Dutch speaker, full professional proficiency in English
  • Your ability to present in French is considered a strong plus
  • Having a VBA or CFA designation or interest to follow one of these educations and acquire one of the designations is considered a plus
