Where the team fits in 

The Sales Lead position, a 14-month parental leave cover, involves managing a team of three Account Partners and one Account Executive while also overseeing your own client portfolio to ensure both team and individual revenue targets are surpassed. You will be instrumental in building and nurturing strong relationships with media agencies and key client marketing and brand teams within the Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia regions.

Key responsibilities include accurate revenue forecasting and strategic business development while positioning realestate.com.au as the preferred digital channel. By collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you will drive marquee partnerships and explore new business opportunities, maintaining an always-on approach to market engagement throughout your tenure.

What the role is all about 

The Sales Lead supports the Media South team in the following ways:

  • Lead and manage a team while overseeing a diverse portfolio of media agencies and key accounts.
  • Develop strong business relationships with senior clients and key agency contacts in investment, planning, and Agency Trading Desks.
  • Create and implement sustainable sales growth strategies for your area and support team members in expanding their portfolios.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly/quarterly revenue and sprint targets; conduct weekly revenue forecasting meetings with finance, aiming for proactive gap management and YoY growth.
  • Drive new high-yielding business initiatives with complete advertiser coverage within the agency portfolio and maintain high customer satisfaction through regular sentiment monitoring.
  • Partner with Brand Partnerships to create and propose integrated, content-driven campaigns
  • Work with the Media product and programmatic solutions teams to maximise revenue and contribute to product development.
  • Ensure consistent communication with the National Sales Director, the Media Leadership team and Media team, monitor and achieve team KPIs.
  • Act as a key support in the VIC market, fostering a motivated and engaged sales team culture; educate the team, clients, and media agencies with market insights from industry and REA sources.
  • Assist in securing partnership revenues, handling renewals, and building strong relationships with clients and agencies.
  • Balance immediate objectives with long-term strategic thinking to align with organizational goals.
  • Foster revenue growth and strengthen relationships within your own client and agency portfolio
  • Be able to demonstrate the need for short-term focus as well as ensuring you have a lens on the longer-term strategical thinking required to deliver on expectations

Who we’re looking for 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital media, including direct client interactions and collaborations with media agencies.
  • Strong expertise in the digital media landscape and ecosystem, with a keen awareness of emerging market trends such as privacy concerns and a cookie-less environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the data sector, with a solid commercial understanding of both open market and private marketplace programmatic landscapes.
  • Exceptional storytelling abilities and comfort in presenting to large groups of senior-level clients.
  • A bachelor's degree in business or marketing.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A solution-oriented mindset when handling complex situations.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • The capacity to demonstrate influence and credibility with senior customers.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new revenue opportunities while maintaining and nurturing growth with core partners.
  • Proven experience in managing a team, while effectively managing your own client portfolio to drive revenue and growth.
