The Opportunity
Orijin is seeking an experienced education or correction technology sales executive who is passionate about mission driven outcomes, and has worked in fast paced, data-driven sales organizations. The sales executive plays a crucial role in the organization as we continue to expand across North America. Demand for Orijin technology and services grows across the country and Orijin needs a talented sales executive who is adept at developing new sales opportunities and closing the business so Orijin can continue its rapid expansion to more state level departments of corrections and large jails across the country.
Reporting to the Head of Growth, the sales executive is responsible for cultivating and developing new sales opportunities and expanding engagement within existing accounts..
Responsibilities
We are looking for a sales executive capable of achieving the following outcomes:Develop and cultivate new customer engagements from assigned target list of jurisdictions to attain assigned quarterly and annual sales goals.Develop and grow existing engagements ensuring upsell revenue growth goals through expansion of existing relationships and identifying new opportunities.
Candidate Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidate has deep experience in education technology or correction sales, specifically in strategic selling to large government bureaucracies (e.g., state-level departments or large city districts) with a very strong track record of meeting and exceeding annual sales quotas. 6+ years of experience in strategic account sales to large government bureaucracies, preferably delivering educational technology.Demonstrated ability to identify and cultivate new sales opportunities and navigate the complex procurement processes to successful completion.A strong listener and communicator who builds detailed understanding of customer problems and needs then can develop solutions aligned to Orijin’s offerings that solve those needs.Proactive self-starter who operates with a sense of urgency, problem-solving, and drive to make it happen.Strong team player and communicator who understands how to tap into internal team resources to support customer development and has excellent follow up and follow through.Proficiency using Salesforce.com to manage reporting.Data driven - demonstrated ability to analyze data to identify trends and insights leading to sales growth.Strong communication skills - verbal and written - able to convey a sense of empathy and urgency.Track record of being conscientious, reliable, and a self-starter.Belief in Orijin’s mission to reduce recidivism and improve the life chances of incarcerated learners and returning citizens.The ability to be exposed to long hours of screen time.
Location & Travel
This position can be based anywhere in the continental United States. Expect to travel extensively throughout the year to meet and cultivate opportunities in person, including attending and presenting at industry conferences.
Salary and Benefits
$110-125k USD, Annual Salary and $125k bonus at goal.Orijin offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and a generous employer-paid benefit package.
