Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and solution-oriented Consulting Sales Engineer to support our efforts in selling Optical Networking equipment and services to hyperscale and cloud services companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Sales Technical Expertise: Act as the primary technical resource during the pre-sales phase, engaging with customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with customers and product line management to design networking solutions that address their specific requirements.
- Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales to provide the technical expertise necessary to support and grow existing accounts, respond to RFPs, develop proposals, and aid in the sales process.
- Customer Education: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, educating them on the benefits of the Adtran optical networking technologies and how it relates to AI infrastructure, and edge computing.
- Technical Escalation Support: Provide post-sales technical support and serve as an escalation point for customers, ensuring smooth implementation and resolution of any technical issues.
- Market & Product Expertise: Continuously develop expertise on optical networking products and services, staying ahead of industry trends in AI, hyperscale/cloud services, and networking technologies to remain a trusted advisor to customers.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years minimum experience in pre-sales engineering or technical sales support roles. Direct experience working with Optical networks and transport networking equipment. Additional knowledge with L2 and L3 applications a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly with sales teams, engineers, and product management to ensure customer requirements are met and solutions are successfully implemented.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to necessary to address unique customer challenges with creative, cost-effective solutions.
- Self-Driven: Proactive, independent, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage complex sales cycles while working in a remote environment.
