We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer with expertise in the power sector to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical knowledge and sales acumen to develop and maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive the growth of our power sector solutions, including power generation, transmission and distribution, and energy storage solutions.

Job Purpose:

The Sales Engineer – Power Sector plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by combining technical expertise with exceptional sales acumen. This position serves as the primary link between the company's innovative power solutions and the client's operational needs, ensuring tailored, effective solutions. By fostering strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering technical insights, the Sales Engineer directly contributes to the company’s success in the competitive power and energy market.

Key Responsibilities 

Technical Expertise

  • Utilize your Electrical Engineering background to effectively understand and convey complex technical concepts.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide solutions tailored to client needs in power generation (e.g., gas turbines, renewable energy, microgrids), transmission and distribution, and energy storage.

Sales Skills

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Execute timely follow-ups on leads, client inquiries, and project updates.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and existing client relationships.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Deliver compelling presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities to address client challenges with innovative solutions.

Administrative and Organizational Skills

  • Leverage CRM and project management tools to track leads, manage client interactions, and oversee project progress.
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure timely reporting of sales activities.

Mobility

  • Travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support project implementation.

Qualifications 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–6 years of hands-on experience in the power sector.
  • Industry knowledge in oil and gas is a plus.

Skills 

  • Proficiency with power generation technologies (e.g., gas turbines, renewable energy, microgrids).
  • Knowledge of energy storage solutions and transmission/distribution systems.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to use CRM/ PM tools and project management software effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage client relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and negotiating contracts.
