Artisan Partners is seeking a Sales Development & Strategy Associate, to partner closely with Artisan’s distribution leadership, in support of the wealth channel. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the sales process and channel, with proven ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization. The associate will partner directly with the head of intermediary sales to drive high priority strategic projects and day-to-day operations of the team.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000
Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual’s geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.
Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to:
- Act as a partner to the head of intermediary sales, executing on strategic long-term projects and day-to-day operations, in alignment with overall firm goals
- Understand and articulate the broader industry competitive landscape to continuously assess our processes and performance relative to peers, driving new initiatives and projects to enhance productivity and promote sales growth
- Act as a liaison to marketing and sales enablement teams to drive field sales initiatives
- Assist with preparation of quarterly business updates and presentations
- Monitor and analyze performance data and competitive positioning to provide actionable insights that inform strategy
- Create and present internal and external reports on distribution flows, sales performance and product trends to drive distribution strategy
- Lead human capital related activities including onboarding and training of team members, systems training, territory management, investment knowledge, technical skills, communication, leadership, and ongoing education
- Partner with associate directors and regional directors to develop and implement territory business plans
- Develop a deep understanding of Artisan’s products, territories and clients
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree
- FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses
- 5 – 10 years of relevant investment management industry experience, with understanding of sales, sales strategy, relationship management, data analysis and project management
- Ability to manage long term projects alongside time sensitive requests
- Understanding of the broader competitive landscape and ability to assess our performance relative to industry peers
- Technical aptitude with an interest in using data and technology to improve processes and drive results
- Salesforce experience highly preferred; CRM experience required
- Excellent communication and presentations skills with proven ability to partner across all levels
