Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the position is responsible for developing and securing contacts with executive level buyers to help sell Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) and/or Enterprise J.B. Hunt solutions. The incumbent works closely with the sales team to develop strategy to secure customer meetings. This position reviews transportation requirements and supply chain needs of prospective customers to determine a fit for the division's business model.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop business opportunities with executives at prospective DCS customers through lead generation efforts by interacting through telephone, email communications, marketing efforts, etc.

• Network within internal stakeholders to strategize and collaborate on prospecting activities

• Work with Market Research Analyst within region to plan and deliver marketing efforts in a given region

• Meet or exceed meeting quota standards set forth by management (e.g., contacts per week, meetings per month)

• Maintain a pipeline of prospective executive-level customer contacts and sales leads for assigned Business Development Executives; actively maintain the pipeline using the company sales contact database

• Schedule introductory meetings with prospective executive-level customers and Business Development Executives, by successfully communicating our transportation service offerings

• Evaluate prospective business opportunities using a prescribed customer qualification process

• Limited business travel is required when applicable. (internal events, customer meetings, etc.)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED AND 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, AND/or equivalent military experience
  • AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships
  • Experience in generating leads and distributing to sales personnel
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience in learning internal sales/lead generation systems
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
  • Ability to perform in a stressful and high-pressure work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing or related field AND 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, sales, marketing and/or equivalent military experience

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
