As the Safety Management Systems Lead, you will report to the Director, Business Operations Safety and work closely with various teams and leadership across the APJ region, making your mark in a number of ways:

  • Lead the ongoing management of AirTrunk’s Safety Management System including taking the lead on the planning, consultation, development, delivery, integration and ongoing maintenance.
  • Drive consistency, simplification and improvement to the current system including leading a review of AirTrunk’s Safety Management System, and strategically developing and executing a plan to declutter and improve.
  • Ensure AirTrunk’s Safety Management System remains fit for purpose and compliant to legislative, ISO45001 and other requirements.
  • Lead the development of AirTrunk’s Safety Technical Requirements documentation.
  • Lead the ongoing development and maintenance of AirTrunk’s environmental, health and safety online legal compliance tool.
  • Support the implementation of safety improvement projects across the business to improve safety performance, awareness, and engagement.

Your Day to Day

  • Champion and support the application of AirTrunk’s Safety Management System across the business.
  • Supervise and review administrative operating systems and procedures, making recommendations for efficiencies and improvements, where required.
  • Monitor industry and regulatory system changes for all regions, assessing their implications on AirTrunk operations and conducting reviews of AirTrunk’s Safety Management System to ensure continued compliance.
  • Support the safety assurance program to assure adequacy and effectiveness of AirTrunk’s Safety Management System and focus on continuous improvement to optimise and evolve the system.
  • Assist with safety communications including monthly performance updates, regular Workplace updates and project updates.
  • Update and maintain the AirTrunk Safety Risk Profile including the review and update of risk assessments.
  • Update and maintain the AirTrunk Safety Management System and support the delivery of safety risk management and improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Participate in and conduct audits and investigations as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in management system certification and accreditation with regard to Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of IMS management frameworks and experience in designing IMS systems
  • Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships to identify opportunities, resolve problems, and deliver on organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent critical thinking, and process and system analysis skills, including the ability to identify opportunities for workflow and system improvements and design/implement effectively.
  • Background in data centre, construction, rail or high-risk industry.
  • Experience working in developing countries.
