Job Responsibilities
- Promote and champion Zero Harm and Zero Waste initiatives and culture across all
- plant operations and personnel
- Assist and act as a resource for department supervisors in identifying hazards and ensuring continuous compliance with all internal and external safety regulations and requirements
- Coordinates all plant safety training and maintains training matrix ensuring completion and compliance of those training programs
- Responsible for all safety related policies, procedures, and programs for the plant
- Responsible for developing and implementing facility wide on-the-job (OJT) training program
- Responsible for compiling and maintaining all SOP updates
- Interact with employees and take a proactive approach to safety related items at the facility
- Lead plant safety committee and participate on any safety subcommittees
- Take lead on all safety inspections and audits
- Assist in maintaining the Responsible Care 14001 Program including participating in the audits
- Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 certification and participating in the associated audits
- Responsible for safety data entry into FOCUS
- Act as the backup for the Environmental Coordinator
- Responsible for managing sustainability initiatives
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in safety-related field preferred
- 3 years of relevant safety experience required without degree
- Will consider Bachelor’s Degree in lieu of experience
- Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills with the ability to use basic computer software
- Knowledge in the areas of OSHA regulations and safety management is preferred
- Team player, ability to set priorities, analyze problems, work independently, and manage time effectively
