Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional Project Technical Manager to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting an acquisition program for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications System. The successful candidate will provide program and project management support the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Acquisition Programs. This program is designed to extend SACCS systems life and transition into the follow-on system, known as Sentinel ICBM System (formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD))
Our team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for future systems updates. Duties will include but not limited to the following:

  • Lead individual projects within the program to include tasking, tracking, and execution based on the overall project schedule.
  • Problem solving on emerging project challenges.
  • Interface between project stakeholders (internal and external), enhance stakeholder relationships with all partners-fostering strong communication.
  • Assist with various tasks to include integration across various teams, configuration management, maintenance plan, Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, process identification and improvement, to secure program success.
  • Requirements validation through user groups to set priorities.
  • Reporting project status, as requested by government customer.


Potential candidates will validate the abilities to accomplish the following activities while demonstrating strong leadership attributes of a team of subject matter experts accomplishing the same:

  • Full understanding of all SACCS network topology /interfaces and requirements
  • Perform System Engineering duties at a top level.
  • Review and approve all correspondence delivered to customer as deliverable item.
  • Follow all required processes especially the peer review process to ensure quality of products being delivered.
  • Maintain other duties as assigned


Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status.
This position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experienced with circuit interconnection architecture
  • Solid understanding with requirement tracing and testing, activating, and troubleshooting all of the SACCS Portable Terminal (SPT) & SACCS Desktop Terminal (SDT) circuits
  • Field experience on circuit hardware and software upgrades.
  • Experienced with Technical Orders process and Procedures
  • Able to track, monitor, and assist program across various activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fully capable to direct teams on resolving technical issues by providing management assistance while reducing risk/safety issues
  • Understands methods/procedures to analyze military drawings/procedures IAW DoD and USAF Guidance
  • Fully capable to develop and review weapon systems risks and mitigation strategies
  • Active US DoD Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills specifically: setting expectations, managing work, and leading individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results.
  • Minimum 15 years electrical experience, 5 years networking engineering /troubleshooting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Due to its special-access, classified working environment, this position is only located at Hill AFB, Utah, and is not conducive to telework schedules.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • College experience preferred
  • Previous work with DoD, USAF, or other military organizations.
  • Previous experience with communication systems within the DoD
  • Experienced in Strategic Automated Command Control System
  • Prior integration experience within a government acquisition program.
  • Experience managing within, or entire, DoD acquisition programs in a Systems Program Office.
  • General knowledge of MS Project, Primavera, or other scheduling tools.
  • General knowledge of requirements management tools.
  • General knowledge of model-based systems engineering processes.
  • Previous cyber security experience


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
