Job Responsibilities:
This is a research intern position within the Advanced Robotics team in the Corporate Engineering and R&D department. The Advanced Robotics team is focused on developing novel technologies that give robots human-like capabilities in perception and dexterity. The candidate will design, develop and evaluate Task and Motion Planning algorithms for Articulated Manipulator Robots. The candidate will get a chance to work under the guidance of a Robotics Software Technical Specialist. Magna's Student Program provides students the opportunity to gain practical work experience in their area of study related to the automotive industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Integration of teleoperation devices with different robots
  • Develop/optimize data collection pipeline for AI/RL model training
  • Develop/optimize pipeline to integrate AI algorithms with different robots
  • Create a representative case study to understand AI/RL solution capabilities and limitations.
  • Develop evaluation criteria to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the systems.
  • Present technical results and provide recommendations based on the case study
  • Support tasks related to robot manipulation with AI
