You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Robot Operations Lead to join our team as part of our Humanoid product ecosystem. As the Robot Operations Lead at Apptronik, you will be responsible for oversight of daily robot and system operations at both Apptronik and customer facilities. This role is primarily focused on the oversight of our tele-operators who control the robots via virtual reality headset and hand controllers, collecting critical data and documenting performance of the systems. You will work closely with cross functional teams gathering use case requirements and then assisting teleoperations with successful completion of those use cases and data delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversight of day to day robot operations including environment set up, scene resets, use case documentation, successful data collection, and escalation of issues
- Collaboration with cross functional teams to provide data based insights that will lead to improved robot reliability
- Advanced knowledge of the robots and their abilities to assist the team with successful use case completion and data collection
- Understanding of troubleshooting systems when issues arise
- Creation of sustainable and scalable processes for recording, documenting, and visualizing system performance
- Create KPIs for team performance as well as dashboards, processes, and systems that will be viewable by company and customer leadership
- Document processes and work instructions for robot operators, as well as training materials and standards for onboarding new hires
- Perform new hire training to ensure consistency in performance as team size increases
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Previous leadership experience with focus on process improvement, data analysis, and performance metrics
- Advanced technical troubleshooting background to be able to problem-solve in high pressure situations
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and leadership (including Apptronik partners and customers)
- Ability to baseline performance to create KPIs and team metrics
- Strong background in Customer Support
- Experience working in startup environments with continuous change and the ability to adapt quickly
- High level of attention to detail, both in oversight and recording of issues
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required
- 2-3 years in a leadership role or similar Subject Matter Expert role where you were responsible for team performance.
- Experience with command line interface on PC systems
- Documentation of processes, knowledgebase, and training material creation
- Previous use of Salesforce preferred
- Training and Onboarding experience preferred
- VR experience a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Hearing and speech to communicate
