Job Description:

Responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings and calculations, CAD drawings, construction documents and specifications for project bid documents for assigned roadway infrastructure projects independently and without supervision.  Develop design plans including geometry, alignments, and details; assist in development of quantities and cost estimates, feasibility studies and design reports; perform travel demand and micro-simulation modeling, capacity analysis and safety analysis consistent with specific agency requirements; plan, analyze and evaluate projects for clients, applying knowledge of  design and construction procedures, AASHTO traffic engineering principles and in accordance with all applicable codes and local, state and national roadway design standards; prepare technical documents; coordinate with design team and other disciplines on design and deliverables; conduct project site visits.  Position duties require extensive utilization of a variety of specialized engineering software and drawing tools, including Microstation V8i SS10, Geopak ss10, OpenRoads Designer, WinStorm and Geopak Drainage. Position requires approximately 25% travel time to project sites in Virginia.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, followed by minimum two years of experience in the position offered, or two years of civil engineering experience in the engineering design of roadway infrastructure projects utilizing Microstation V8i SS10, Geopak ss10, OpenRoads Designer, WinStorm and Geopak Drainage, including: preparing detailed engineering drawings and calculations, CAD drawings, construction documents and specifications for project bid documents; development of quantities/cost estimates, feasibility studies and design reports; performing travel demand and micro-simulation modeling, capacity analysis and safety analysis; conducting site visits; preparing technical documents; planning, analyzing and evaluating client projects in accordance with AASHTO, applicable codes and local, state and national roadway design standards. Position requires Professional Engineer license for Commonwealth of Virginia.

Annual salary range for offered position: $104,000 - $131,400. Full benefits package.
