As a Design Safety Engineer, you will ensure the safety of material handling systems through design reviews, team collaboration, and continuous improvement of processes and tools.
After your onboarding, where you learned our Engineering way of working, your first project could be to support a Sales Engineer with a quotation.
What will you be doing?
You`ll be part of Warehousing International. As such you will contribute to sales, service and engineering projects on design safety of the material handling systems. You will review safety designs on mechanical, electromechanically and controls level. You will discuss your findings with the teams and you document important decisions regarding safety & compliancy.
Beside to above you contribute increasing the maturity of the design safety competence, continuous improvement on processes, product, manuals, templates, training and lessons learned.
Your responsibilities

Be a “Go to” person for the Sales, Service and Engineering department; you advise (multidisciplinary) based on applicable standards (ISO, IEC, EN etc.);

Audit the design safety and compliancy process from start of pre bid phase Sales, engineering onwards;

Consulting & Authority for Health Safety and Risk Analyses;

Consulting & Authority for mandatory DSE, deliverables (documents)

Verify safety solutions within projects & where necessary discuss these with stakeholders (e.g. Project Manager/Project Leader/Supervisors);

Setup and provide Safety Training;

Execute site inspection on Design Safety (Mech/EM/Controls);

Check technical files for compliancy and prepare Declarations;

Contribute to continuous Improvement of design safety and compliancy.
What do we ask from you
With a BSc-level education in electrotechnical, mechanical, mechatronic engineering or other related field and over five years of experience in machine safety, you bring a proactive and creative approach to solving complex safety challenges. you excel at evaluating, summarizing, and advising on intricate technical topics, reducing complexity into clear, actionable insights while maintaining a pragmatic and results-driven mindset.

Highly effective in organizing and working independently;

Understanding of the machine directive (2006/42/EC) and experience in the application of safety standards like EN 619; EN415; EN528; ISO 10218-1/2; ISO 13855; ISO 13857; ISO 13849-1/2; ISO 13850, ISO 14118; ISO 14119; ISO 14120; ISO 14122-1 till -4; IEC 60204-1 etc.

Education in machine Compliance and/or Safety like CECE (Certified Expert in CE Marking), CMSE (Certified Machine Safety Expert), CEFS (Certified Expert Functional Safety) is a pre.

Willing to travel (+/-25%);

Excellent communication and presenting skills both verbal and in writing;

Good command of the English;

Competent in use of MS office (minimal; Word, Excel, Power-point, Outlook).

Driver’s license (car).
What we offer
This position offers a competitive salary range of € 3602,62 to € 4837,80 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
