What You’ll Do:

As the Purchase Risk Squad Lead, you will take the helm of a mission-critical team responsible for managing the heart and brain of Sunbit’s primary product. This role is crucial in ensuring that financial risks are proactively managed to meet Sunbit’s financial KPIs. Leading a dynamic team of backend engineers and AI/ML specialists, you will drive the development of cutting-edge risk management systems that safeguard the loan product's financial operation, with a direct impact on its financial success.

This position is both strategic and hands-on, involving the architecture and implementation of scalable systems that power the core financial risk. 

  • Lead a highly skilled team of backend engineers and AI/ML specialists responsible for managing financial risk at the core of Sunbit's loan product.
  • Architect and build scalable systems that process and analyze large datasets to detect and mitigate financial risks in real-time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI/ML engineers, product managers, analysts, and other engineering squads, to align risk management strategies with business goals.
  • Work closely with the business and senior leadership to ensure risk management strategies align with evolving business needs.
  • Ensure the financial risk management systems are stable, secure, and adaptable to the platform’s growth and evolving needs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends in financial risk management, data architecture, and AI/ML technologies to keep Sunbit’s platform at the forefront of innovation.
  • Respond quickly and proactively to emerging trends, delivering fast, impactful solutions that protect the product's financial success.


Requirements

  • Experience managing a team and leading projects hands-on from start to finish.
  • Proficiency in modern system architecture with large-scale and high performance.
  • Impact driven - measure everything, make sure every task moves the needle and utilize your resources to maximize the team's impact.
  • Team player, with strong communication skills and someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, solution-oriented, and able to maintain a ‘can do’ attitude, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
  • Passion for data.
  • B.Sc in computer science or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, focusing on system architecture.
  • 2+ years of experience in Software Engineering management.
  • Experience with software development in Python.
  • Experience with a microservices architecture.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Experience in AI/ML or managing AI/ML engineers.
  • Experience in a fintech company is highly desirable.
  • Experience in risk management is highly desirable.
