Job Description

  

Teledyne Micropac Hi-Rel is looking for an Optoelectronics, Sensor & Display Product Line Manager to support new product business identification, release, and Field Application Support for Optical semiconductor devices to Aerospace and Defense Electronics customers and adjacent high reliability markets. This position provides a unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology that supports critical defense and space programs.

 The Product Line Manager within the company's Optoelectronic Business Unit is responsible for developing the product line strategy, enabling revenue growth through the timely introduction of cost effective, differentiated products ensuring high gross margin. The PLM will maintain and execute to the product roadmap based on input from Customers, Customer Account Managers, Sales and Market Intelligence. The PLM shares responsibility for revenue forecasting and will provide a cross check on forecast accuracy. The PLM will be responsible for ensuring close interaction and coordination between the partner reference designs, customer programs and manufacturing operations which includes managing prototyping, transition to production and full product lifecycle activities. The PLM will oversee and coordinate with other functional groups including customer account management, engineering, sales, finance, production, and customer service. This position will be responsible for achieving gross margin targets while supporting sales to provide exceptional customer satisfaction. This role will contribute internal process and productivity improvement projects. The qualified candidate for this position will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify significant business opportunities for aerospace and defense semiconductors for Teledyne Micropac HiRel to increase revenue
  • Create business and product development plans for Optical and RF products, do opportunity assessments, initiate product kick offs, and assist with program management until product release
  • Lead new product definition teams and define new products
  • Develop product strategies, product positioning, and new product roadmaps
  • Support release new products to the high reliability market
  • Work with our top customers, sales and representative teams, and distributor partners.
  • Provide technical training and technical design-in support for all regions worldwide.
  • Technical expert not only for the product line but also on market trends
  • Interface with customers and field to understand market requirements
  • Pricing strategy for new products
  • Forecast of orders and sales of new and existing products.
  • Monitor margins through product life cycle and implement margin improvement strategies.
  • Own revenue forecast and work in close coordination with sales teams on gap closures
  • Understand competitive pricing and provide detailed competitive analysis
  • Knowledge of end equipment and solutions for high reliability market
  • Ability to identify new product line opportunities and provide coordination with partners to implement new suppliers into Teledyne Micropac HiRel value chain
  • Ability to travel to customers and field offices worldwide to provide technical trainings and product/roadmap overviews, assist sales team, and obtain feedback on new product ideas
  • Provide technical support to field and customers to solve application issues.
  • Creation of marketing collateral, product roadmap definition, market communication material, white papers, application notes, and conference presentations
  • Long range product strategy and business growth

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSEE.) or equivalent with some industry experience and background in semiconductor product marketing
  • Strong communication and customer skills
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Working knowledge of IC development
  • Familiarity with Military/DoD and Space programs, systems and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients, team members, and management staff
