Where and how you can work
Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub in San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations.
What you'd be doing in this role
- You will be responsible for month-end close activities including generating journal entries for Revenue and COGS activity, completing reconciliations, and performing fluctuation analysis ensuring GAAP and IFRS compliance.
- You will own margin analysis on a monthly basis, providing insight to management on fluctuations and changes in methodologies or business activities.
- You will be responsible for pulling KPI's and performing internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements.
- You will assist with system implementations focused on creating a seamless QTC process. You will develop requirements, partner with IT and Product teams on design, and perform user-acceptance testing.
- You will coordinate with external auditors, providing support and reporting as needed.
- You'll identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the quote to cash process, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
You're probably a match if
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in quote-to-cash or a similar finance role with a passion for delivering excellence.
- Experience in a public company environment with a focus on month-end responsibilities (creating journal entries, flux analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations). NetSuite or RevPro experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify issues and implement solutions proactively.
- Knowledge of revenue recognition based on the requirements of ASC 606 (US GAAP) and IFRS 15.
- Experience working with COGS (cost of goods sold or cost of revenue) and margin.
About the Revenue Accounting team
As Canva continues to rapidly grow and expand its product offerings, the Revenue Accounting function plays a critical role in managing and navigating the increasing complexities of revenue accounting, systems and operations. The Revenue Accounting team focuses on direct to customer sales, supporting management reporting and developing a fully automated accounting solution.

The target salary range for this position is $141,000 - $217,000. When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.
