As a Research Scientist, you will contribute to Luma’s foundational models research team, focusing on Generative AI, including training models in various modalities, applying reinforcement learning for model tuning, and leveraging large-scale distributed systems for efficient processing.

Relevant Research Experience
- Training generative AI models in modalities such as video, image, text, audio, and 3D.
- Unlocking the power of foundational models for interesting applications, such as editing and controlled generations.
- On-policy or off-policy reinforcement learning for model tuning
- Efficient training and / or inference techniques on large-scale distributed systems
- Data curation and processing for pretraining and fine-tuning
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and/or Jax.
- This is an onsite role but open to remote for right candidate
Compensation
- The pay range for this position in California is $200,000 - $300,000yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience. We also offer competitive equity packages in the form of stock options and a comprehensive benefits plan.
