Research Scientists collaborate across a broad portfolio of sophisticated health economic and health policy research projects as a member of a project team; and they understand how to create the data foundation needed to provide the statistical analysis framework for projects. In collaboration with the project lead, conduct statistical analysis and modeling procedures, and contribute to interpretation of the results from statistical procedures and models in order to address client’s research questions.
Additional day to day activities may include:
- Conceptualize the design of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models
- Programming health economic models in Microsoft Excel
- Collects information efficiently and effectively, including hard to find information, and has a comprehensive knowledge of applicable analytic tools and techniques
- Communication of research projects to internal team and external clients
- Ability to lead individual project tasks or components of large complex studies with oversight from senior staff
- Proactively identifies and defines project risks with recommendations for potential solutions
- Develops written materials with support from project team
- Performs quality assurance and quality control procedures on own and others’ programs
- Actively and effectively contributes to internal and client discussions and responds well to coaching, sharing information, and asking for feedback
Qualifications:
Required:
- Masters' degree
- 2-5 years' relevant research experience
Other Required:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
- Understanding of statistical programs (e.g. SAS, R, Stata)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Preferred:
- PhD
- Degree concentration in economics, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, public policy, health policy, or public health or related
- Experience in conducting literature reviews, systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews, or critical reviews
- Understanding of medical terminology and/or any disease-specific expertise

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
