Are you ready for a new beginning?
We need your talent, knowledge and dedication to better our world with biology.
Our purpose points the way
In Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges. Since we began more than a century ago, this has been our guide. It’s how we've gotten so far. And it’s how we'll impact the future. Now, more than ever, the world needs change. And with biosolutions, the possibilities for transformation are endless.
We’re here to better our world with biology.
Join us as our new Research Scientist
We are looking for a research scientist with a solid background in molecular biology, library construction, phage display, affinity determination, and enzyme assays. The position will be with the team of Binding Proteins in R&D, Molecular Discovery.
In Molecular Discovery, we integrate several competences from wildtype enzyme and protein discovery, molecular biology, assay development, bioinformatics, and protein design to identify and engineer enzymes and proteins that will succeed and become products in industrial biosolutions.
Welcome to the Binder Protein team
The Binder Protein team is a small team of scientists and technicians, collaborating closely with the rest of Molecular Discovery and other related functions. We develop new binding proteins and enzyme inhibitors through phage display and AI guided engineering followed by affinity determination of lead molecules, and inhibition assays tailored to the target application.
As part of this role, we offer:
- Exceptional opportunities for professional growth
- A friendly, transparent, and supportive work environment
- A team-oriented structure that values empowerment and collaboration
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
You will contribute with molecular biology competences in an interdisciplinary team addressing specific needs across multiple applications. More specifically, you will focus on developing binding proteins and inhibitors for different uses in collaboration with our application-oriented colleagues. Practically, you will develop suitable diversity and conduct phage display and additional screening methods to accommodate evaluation of small volume non-purified protein samples. This role therefore requires close collaboration, keeping an open mind, and the ability to adapt to changing needs in the project and beyond.
To succeed you must have:
- A PhD degree (or MSc with relevant work experience) in biotechnology, molecular biology or a related field.
- Solid experience in molecular biology, library construction, and phage display.
- Protein-protein affinity understanding and experience in measuring binding affinities using methods like Octet, Surface plasmon resonance, or microscale thermophoresis.
- A passion for lab work.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to identify opportunities for binder proteins and inhibitors in various applications and operations.
- Strong communication skills, an open-minded positive attitude, and a desire to achieve results together with others.
Additionally, you must be fluent in English as you will work closely with colleagues of many nationalities.
It’s an advantage if you have:
- Experience in protein engineering and enzymology
- Experience with project leadership and wish to develop it further

What We Do
Novozymes has combined with Chr. Hansen to become Novonesis: linkedin.com/company/novonesis.
This global biosolutions company of 10,000 people is transforming how the world produces, consumes and lives. In 30-plus industries, its biosolutions help businesses meet their needs and the needs of our planet.
Novozymes was formed in 2000 when Novo Nordisk split into three companies: Novo Nordisk A/S, Novozymes A/S and Novo A/S. Novozymes was the world leader in biological solutions with a commitment to Rethink Tomorrow. It served 130 markets with enzymatic, microbial and advanced protein solutions. The company’s solutions enabled higher agricultural yields, low-temperature washing, energy-efficient production, renewable fuel and many other benefits.
In December 2022, Novozymes and Chr. Hansen entered into an agreement to create a leading global biosolutions partner by combining the two companies. The goal was to unleash the full potential of biosolutions and generate significant value for all stakeholders and society. The combination was completed on January 29, 2024 and Novonesis was born. The name means ‘a new beginning’ and is derived from the Greek word ‘genesis’. It reflects a new era where we’ll better our world with biology.
