Totus Medicines is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering precision small molecule therapies to transform treatment paradigms in oncology, immunology, and inflammation (I&I). We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate in the field of protein sciences within the Totus research group. This is a contract position for 6 -12 months.The successful candidate will produce and characterize a wide variety of disease relevant proteins while working in multi-disciplinary team, with ample opportunities to learn cutting-edge science.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Cell biology: maintain, track, and transiently transfect mammalian cells in parallel
- Protein production: measure overexpression using a variety of techniques
- Harvest: aliquot, store, and inventory host cells for downstream use
- Document results in an ELN in a detailed and timely manner
- Open to learning new techniques
- Actively contribute to a culture of scientific excellence and integrity
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in cell biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related discipline, with 1+ year of laboratory experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively; attention to detail and documentation
- Excellent laboratory and sterile technique
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
- Hands-on experience in protein production, preferably from mammalian host cells
- Hands-on experience in protein analytics, including SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and plate based spectroscopic and luminescent assays
- Familiarity with automated Simple Western instruments (Leo, Jess, Abby) is a plus
