Lonza acquired Synaffix, a biotechnology company focused on commercializing its clinical-stage technology platform for the development of more effective and better tolerated antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs.)

As a Research Associate PD/ Scale-up Bioconjugates you will operate in a team that supports process development and scale-up of ADC production for early phase collaborations with biotech/pharma companies. The key tasks include; setting up experiments, running reactions and purifying intermediates and final products and interpretation of results. In addition you will characterize the produced ADCs with various analytical tools.

What you’ll do:

  • Execution of experiments following established protocols (including but not limited to performing remodeling and bioconjugation experiments, product purification, product fill-finish and product analysis).

  • Perform DoE experiments and interpretate the data.

  • Perform proof of concept runs (PoC runs).

  • Processing, analyzing & documenting of results in ELN.

  • Take assigned responsibilities in designated tasks & projects.

  • Preparation of production reports and product certificates.

  • Provide general support to lab operations.

  • Adhere to company policies and quality & safety standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) in a relevant field, preferably in chemical biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering.

  • 1 -4 years relevant work experience in Pharma / Biotech area.

  • Experience with various protein purification and analysis techniques including TFF, IEX, affinity chromatography (protein A/L, Ni-NTA), SEC, SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC and MS.

  • Experience with handling antibodies, including modification, purification and analysis.

  • Familiarity with various bioconjugation chemistry techniques and preferably hands-on experience.

  • Strong commitment to laboratory work and project delivery.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong team-player mentality.
