Research Associate Contractor, Biochemistry/Biophysics & High-throughput Screening

Position Summary:

We seek a highly motivated biochemist/biophysicist contractor to join our team located in Watertown, MA for 12 months. The successful candidate will be an instrumental contributor within the Biomolecular Sciences and Lead Discovery (BSLD) department, helping to conduct various high-throughput screening (HTS) campaigns using our existing suite of proprietary technologies, and to perform HTS follow-up and routine assays as part of our pipeline activities.  

This person will have a strong background in biochemistry and/or biophysics and will execute various in vitro assays at multiple stages of drug development (e.g., from high-throughput screening for early stage hit discovery up through lead optimization). The individual will have a track-record of success within a hypothesis-driven, team-oriented, and interdisciplinary laboratory setting. They will be expected to contribute to data generation, analysis, and visualization, as well as communicating with a cross-functional team of scientists in a thriving biotech environment across multiple stages of the drug development pipeline.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute high-throughput screening campaigns with small molecule libraries
• Perform in vitro assays to screen/profile the binding and behavior of small molecule compounds to large protein complexes
• Evaluate and help to interpret data from novel biochemical and biophysical technologies for target and hit discovery
• Interpret, present, and report research findings in an open and timely manner
• Build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues in biomolecular sciences, biology, and chemistry

Qualifications:

• S., M.Sc. or equivalent in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related discipline with 2-3+ years of experience working in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology laboratory setting
• Proficiency in running multi-well plate-based in vitro assays with fluorescent/luminescent readouts (e.g. TR-FRET, FP) at various scales
• Experience working with laboratory automation, HTS, Hit-to-Lead, and compound management workflows is required
• Experienced in independently running routine assays and conducting thorough data analysis
• Desire/Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team-focused environment

Benefits:

Pay ranges between $35-45/hr based on experience.
