Research Associate, Cell & Gene Therapy Research

Summary:

The Research Associate will contribute to Cell & Gene Therapy projects by planning and conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and presenting results to support the advancement of the projects.

Essential Functions:

•    Plan and perform a variety of in vitro pharmacological experiments directed at target and drug candidate evaluation and validation.
•    Collect and analyze data. Present data in group or project meetings.
•    Collaborate with other research functional teams with effective communications.
•    Records experiments and data in laboratory notebooks, databases and/or reports.

Requirements:

Education
Bachelor’s required. Master’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university with a major in biology, molecular or cell biology, immunology, pharmacology or other related fields.

Experience
A minimum of two to five years of experience working in an industry or academic lab. Knowledge and experience of Cell & Gene Therapy research. Participated in vivo pharmacological experiments highly preferred. 

Technical Skills
Knowledge of hematology, oncology and immunology. In vitro experiment techniques such as cell culture, western blotting, ELISA, PCR, multicolor flow cytometry, etc. In vivo, experimental techniques such as tissue harvesting, processing and analyzing. Skills in data analysis software such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, and Flowjo.

Working Conditions:

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear, and smell. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to experimental animals, biohazardous materials, including blood borne pathogens, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold (deep freezers). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Requires up to 15% domestic and international travel.

Annualized base salary ranges from $85,000 - $110,000 plus short term incentive bonus; actual salaries will vary and may be above or below this range commensurate with various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and merit.
