The Research and Editorial Strategist will focus on video trends and emerging creators in Korea and provide research and editorial services in English and Korean for our client. This position may also review, analyze, and evaluate video content based on guidelines.The Strategist will utilize their passion for pop culture and social media trends to identify patterns and provide insight on the digital landscape. This role requires strong research and writing skills and an awareness of global and regional social media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partnerships to deliver editorial feedback and research on video content
- Research trending content and creator communities across APAC in both English and Korean
- Write weekly research assignments using trends data in various formats including slides and in-depth reports
- Prepare data plans to support research and writing of documents
- Analyze and interpret data on video content using queries with supplied templates
- Discover and pitch compelling relevant trends to the client on a weekly basis
- Apply a keen awareness of the cultural and political climate to all work
- Participate in and encourage the growth of 1021’s culture both within the company and outside of it
- Special projects as needed
Required Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in relevant job or industry
- Deep familiarity with the cultural and political climates in Korea
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working remotely and within multicultural teams
- Experience with content moderation, content review, curation, or similar roles
- Knowledge of content review guidelines and best practices
- Experience with copywriting and proofreading, preferably with a focus on entertainment content
- Experience working with data sets and statistical analysis
- Comfortable working with Google Suite, with spreadsheets and other data management tools
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in guidelines, workflows, and tools
- Strong understanding of digital streaming products, particularly video and its ecosystem
- The ability to review information with an analytical and objective mindset in a fast paced environment
- A keen interest in/knowledge of pop culture, social media trends and creators, and trending video content
- Strong familiarity with memes, hit songs and content trends in pop culture including music, dance, gaming, beauty, fashion, film, TV, pets, comedy, and/or sports
- Familiar with popular social media platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Clubhouse, etc.
