POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a junior Research Analyst to contribute to the quantitative research projects of BDC's Research and Market Intelligence team. These projects primarily target Canadian entrepreneurs and BDC staff members. In the course of his/her work, the analyst supports his/her colleagues by performing various tasks related to data analysis and presentation. The results of these studies are used by various internal teams and BDC's Executive Committee to make decisions and take action.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Participate in quantitative research projects led by senior analysts and specialists in:

Verifying, translating, scheduling and testing survey questionnaires;
-
Carrying out the statistical processing of survey data from a treatment plan;
-
Proposing and performing more complex statistical analyses as needed;
-
Creating survey report templates, entering data, verifying the accuracy of information in reports.

Perform project-related tasks for the team.

Collaborate effectively and continuously with other members of the Research and Market Intelligence team and stay abreast of methods used in the field of marketing research.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
-
University degree in statistics, mathematics, social sciences involving statistical data processing (sociology, psychology, econometrics, etc.). Diploma of Collegial Studies in Social Research (Technical DEC) an asset.

One to three years of experience in a similar position, i.e., a research position where surveys are used as a data collection method and where the individual has performed the tasks listed above or similar tasks.

Experience in a marketing research firm is a great asset.

Experience in research with SMEs an asset.

Excellent analytical skills, rigor and very close attention to detail.

Good written communication skills.
-
Curiosity for the field of business and economic news.

Excellent ability to work in a team and collaborate.

Strong ability to synthesize information, especially visually in PPT.

Excellent organizational, planning and priority management skills.

Great ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent command of PowerPoint and Word (Microsoft Office) software. Proficiency in Copilot 365 an asset.

Excellent quantitative analysis skills and excellent proficiency in statistical data processing software; proficiency in SPSS essential and Q Software an asset.

Bilingualism English/French: the person must have a good understanding of both languages, both oral and written; Spoken bilingualism is an asset.
