Are you an entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, and energetic person?  Are you excited about working on new and exciting problems and driving large scale social impact?  Mainstay is looking for a Renewal Manager with a strong history of achievement in partnering with customers to drive retention of annual recurring revenue (ARR) during the renewal process!

Who We Are

At Mainstay we deeply care about the outcomes of our partners. We're an extension of their teams who work to understand their goals, strategic priorities and plans, and align our efforts to meet their needs as a true partner.  We use technology to scale the science of student success coaching through a communications platform that coaches students to and through college. We are a Public Benefit Corporation, with a commitment to helping more students access and achieve higher learning. We use human-centered, AI-enhanced coaching to proactively help learners find the answers they need, wherever they are, whenever they need it--and offer colleges a way to scale one-on-one support to their entire student body.

The Renewal Manager will be tasked with collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and maintaining strong partner relationships while managing contract renewals. You’ll engage with senior C-level stakeholders, manage contract negotiations, and develop tailored renewal strategies.

In this role, you’ll be a part of the Revenue Operations team, reporting into the VP of Finance, and working closely with both our Sales and Partner Success teams.

What You’ll Do

Elevate Our Strategy:

  • Develop and execute data-driven renewal strategies for high-value accounts, balancing customer needs with Mainstay's business objectives.
  • Optimize renewal value by proactively identifying partner needs, negotiating mutually beneficial terms, and exploring upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

Strengthen Our Relationships:

  • Own and drive the contract renewal process, collaborating effectively with Sales and Partner Success to preserve and enhance partner relationships.
  •  Proactively engage with key decision-makers to understand their evolving needs, address potential roadblocks, and ensure timely renewals.

Deliver a Seamless Process:

  • Manage the entire contract renewal lifecycle, from pipeline management and CRM updates (Salesforce experience preferred) to risk mitigation and multi-year agreement management.
  • Accurately forecast renewals, track performance against key metrics (e.g., renewal rate, churn rate, contract value), and provide regular reports on renewal trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Continuously improve the renewal process by implementing best practices, streamlining workflows, and enhancing communication with internal and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Have

  • 2+ years of experience with proven success in renewal management within a SaaS or subscription-based business
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, resulting in a quantifiable increase in renewal rates (e.g., X% increase year-over-year)
  • Experience with software sales and/or renewals, including proficiency in Hubspot or a similar CRM
  • Problem solving skills to navigate the procurement process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Attention to detail
  • “No task is too small” attitude, with an eagerness to learn
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A positive and open approach to growth and learning
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
