Position Overview
 

The Engineering Manager, Renewables is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves leading and coordinating construction engineering efforts while collaborating with a larger multidisciplinary engineering team, external stakeholders, and contractors.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the construction engineering function for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, and hybrid solutions.
  • Oversee design implementation and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project delivery teams.
  • Develop and enforce quality control and assurance processes during construction.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve project milestones in collaboration with design lead and project manager
  • Identify and mitigate construction-related risks.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and construction contractors to ensure seamless integration of engineering designs into construction.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety standards.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams and junior construction staff.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction engineering, with at least 5 years in renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrable Leadership, Team management, Communication and Stakeholder Management skills 
  • Strong Business and Commercial acumen
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale renewable energy construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards, construction methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE practices and risk management in construction.
  • Proficiency in project management and engineering tools and software (e.g. MS suite of programs, MS Project, TeamBinder, Aconex, AutoCAD, etc.)
