This position is responsible for the administration of cash applications within the firm to client accounts and general ledgers. The position provides email support for cash applications and inquiries surrounding payment applications. It is responsible for the processes around payments, unknown payments and client credits and has the duty to maintain adequate records of the cash application.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Administers the operation of accounts receivable receipts within the firm including but not limited to:
- Works payment application exceptions contained within the bank deposit batches and updates the bank file for the applicable client account or general ledger.
- Outputs bank deposit batches into the firm’s ERP system ensuring that the records process successfully, addressing any variances.
- Research and inputs bank deposits the firm’s ERP system and updates the related payments for the applicable client account or general ledger.
- Updating, reviewing, and researching unidentified payments
- Communicating with clients, the details of any overpayments and working with them to determine the resolution.
- Processes journal entries for payment reclass needs.
- Monitors and responds to remittance inquiries.
- Provides support to Finance, AR, and collections with payment applications and inquiries.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Associate degree or equivalent experience - Required
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office - Required
- Ability to work within a team atmosphere - Required
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal - Required
- Effective organization and time management skills - Required
- Strong attention to detail – Required
- Previous experience with Workday - Preferred
EXPERIENCE
1-3 years relevant experience - Preferred
