WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Documentation Improvement Quality and Accuracy Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation. Ensures documentation meets quality standards and that an accurate reflection of the patient status and clinical treatment is entered into the medical record.
- Medical Record Review Reviews and interprets medical records. Communicates with physicians, nurses, case managers and other caregivers related to documentation opportunities.
- Quality Review Works with Quality, Core Measure Abstractors, Health Information Coders, and uses CMS resources to identify patient care components related to the quality measures for CMS submission. Supports timely, accurate and complete documentation of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and hospital outcomes. Refers quality issues to appropriate resource.
- Trend Analysis Identifies trends and opportunities for documentation improvement. Summarizes and analyzes performance and impact of clinical documentation improvement program.
- Charge Leveling As required, enters patient information into charging software to determine charge level and procedural charges.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Required: Associate's Degree in healthcare related field
- Preferred: Master's Degree in healthcare related field
- Preferred: Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) - Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS)
- Required: 2 years of additional applicable experience
