Job Description
Exciting opportunity to be part of the Regulatory Reporting Operations department which is at the forefront of leveraging data-driven technology to drive transformative change across various streams.
As an Associate within the Regulatory Reporting Team, you will be a key player in the development and archiving processes for legal ledgers, as well as the submission of regulatory reports. Your responsibilities will include conducting reconciliations and checks, overseeing exceptions to guarantee the precision and completeness of legal ledgers and regulatory reports, and working closely with Business Operations, Compliance & Legal, and Technology teams across various regions to address any issues. You will also play a crucial role in automating the creation, validation, and reconciliation of legal ledgers and regulatory reports to improve efficiency and reinforce controls. As you gain experience, you will have the chance to transition into roles such as Business Analyst or Project Manager for Legal Ledger and Regulatory Reporting automation, collaborating closely with technology teams both locally and regionally. This role will provide you with a deep understanding of regulations and the opportunity to perform quality checks on reports.
Job responsibilities
- Generate and submit legal ledgers and regulatory reports
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of regulations related to legal ledgers and regulatory reports
- Provide requirements and perform testing for changes and new business initiatives
- Operate with urgency and precision, utilizing problem-solving skills to address any arising issues
- Influence internal and external partners to promote process improvement
- Drive process optimization through the implementation of digital solutions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and accountable
- Proficient in both written and oral communication in English and Japanese, with the ability to present credibly to stakeholders
- Exceptional relationship management skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- A change management mindset with a proven track record of delivering positive change in end-to-end processes
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience in an investment banking operations role
- Strong PC skills (Excel, Word) are essential, with digital tools (RPA/Alteryx)
