Regulatory Counsel

Our fast-paced Regulatory team is looking for a regulatory counsel with experience in the payments, retail banking, card network and/or finance industry. The successful candidate must be able to work as a business partner with a wide range of teams, including risk, legal, finance and sales, and provide pragmatic advice and guidance to build sustainable growth.

What you'll do:

  • Monitor regulatory developments in legislative and policy environment and advise on its impact to Adyen
  • Develop and lead on Adyen’s strategic policy direction that impact Adyen
  • Represent the team on a variety of workstreamsCollaborate with internal stakeholders globally
  • Undertake policy analysis and legal research
  • Draft submissions on emerging regulatory and policy issues to educate, promote and influence a regulatory environment that supports Adyen’s strategic direction. 
  • Operationalise regulatory requirements in Australia and New Zealand for Adyen
  • Collaborate and provide advice and support to internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters in Australia and New Zealand ranging from regulatory engagement, regulatory strategy and  product launches.

Who you are:

  • You are qualified as a lawyer
  • You have strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • You have strong research, statutory interpretation and organisation skills
  • You demonstrate ability to conduct analysis of policy issues
  • You have at least 3 years+ post qualification experience in a regulatory/policy/legal role 
  • You have some working knowledge of the payment industry, retail banking, acquiring and finance
  • You will be a critical thinker, strategic and have innovative problem-solving skills
  • Your strong sense of initiative, independence and ability to take ownership enabling you to contribute to a fast-growing business
