Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a Regional Sales Vice President to join the U.S. Group Benefits department. The Regional Sales Vice President (RSVP) will be responsible for:
- building relationships with sales distribution partners consisting primarily of Individual Independent Producers and Regional Brokerage Firms
- achieving distribution contact activity targets through the development and execution of marketing strategies/plans that advance the Pan-American Life brand, product portfolio, and service platform
This position will be charged with proactively building sustainable relationships that promote sales to employer group markets. Please note that 75% of the travel requirement is within a defined geography.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Building Relationships
- develop profitable new business opportunities and maintain existing business relationships
- identify, build, and manage relationships with benefit consultants, brokers, and enrollment firms to expand the Pan-American Life presence in their business processes
- serve as the executive relationship manager
- build strong working relationships with senior management, home office staff, and field sales staff and assist them in building working relationships with consultants, agents, brokers, enrollment entities, and PALIG’s divisional partners in understanding the needs of our customers and executing sales strategies to fulfill those needs while providing growth and profitability to PALIG
Reporting
- provide reporting to senior management as requested
- maintain CRM database with required current, accurate, account and producer information
Marketing
- develop and execute both short- and long-term marketing strategies/business plans for the promotion of PALIG products and services to increase sales of producer partner business
- keep current on business, competitor, and market trends and incorporate that knowledge into strategies and initiatives, maintaining focus on continuous improvement through researching innovative and cost-efficient business solutions
Other Duties as Assigned
- ability to work flexible hours, including frequent client luncheons, dinners, and events
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required (four years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
- 10+ years of experience in technical sales, sales management, and working with national benefit brokerage, benefit consulting firms, and benefit communications and technology firms required
- 5+ years of broker/agency experience required
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and outside vendors required
- Advanced knowledge of individual and group insurance products, as well as payroll allotment and IRSC 125, and workplace/voluntary benefit experience required
- Basic math skills required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
- Domiciled State Life & Health License or willingness to acquire within first 90 days preferred
- Worksite and/or supplemental insurance experience preferred, with emphasis on large case (500+ employees); interaction with large national brokerage and consulting firms and benefit communication (enrollment & technology) firms preferred
