Responsibilities and Duties
- Use data led insights to develop strategy and provide guidance to underwriting and marketing, through the following activities:
- Monitoring loss ratio, retention, new business, quote volumes, and expenses – by coverage and class.
- Actively monitoring competitor filings and summarize rate levels, rating structures, and coverage features
- Understanding the unique coverages in assigned states (e.g. UM, PIP, individual workers compensation coverage elections, etc.) and how regulatory changes may impact them
- Utilize bureau filings and information to help understand pricing trends in the market place
- Regular communication with regional marketing and sales staff to gain information and perspective on what they are seeing in the agents’ offices
- Participate in the annual business planning process.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with underwriting, marketing, enterprise analytics and information services.
- This is a professional level position and the employee may need to work additional hours to complete various projects
- Adhere to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Comply with policies and directives outlined in the company handbook
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Five (5) years of product development, commercial lines underwriting or commercial lines rate making experience
- CPCU Designation preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
