About the role

Based in the UAE the role will be further leading the growth of Distran in the Middle East region.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and grow the business in the Middle East with channel partners and through direct sales
  • Develop a structured approach, including operational plans, to address the market in line with the company`s strategy
  • Manage/support the business development manager for Middle East (located in Bahrain) responsible for KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain
  • Manage proactively the business development in UAE, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Oman (other countries might be assigned)
  • Open, develop and retain relationships with key accounts in the target industries, in particular oil and gas, chemistry and power generation
  • Active sales acquisition with focus on opening, retaining and developing Key Accounts (e.g. ADNOC)
  • Engage in prospecting, perform in-person presentations and on-site demos, help facilitate RFPs, close orders and ensure general sales administration
  • Overseeing all aspects of business operations, incl. maintaining budget, sales goals and general targets
  • Generate regular progress reports including relevant KPIs for upper management
  • Select, organize and attend conferences and exhibitions in the sales area
  • Plan, organize and implement marketing actions together with Head office: white papers, journal publication, talks
  • Preparation of offers and general sales administration
  • Create and maintain customer information in CRM tools (Pipedrive), track and ensure sales process according defined sale pipelines
  • Keep up to date with competition in the sales area and prepare market analysis

Your profile 

  • Highly autonomous and entrepreneurial minded
  • Graduated with a degree in Technical/Instrumentation/Mechanical fields, or similar background with further education in Sales and Marketing
  • Working experience in Oil & Gas, Chemistry and/or with Power Plants is an added bonus
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position in an SMB, or start-up environment, selling of CAPEX equipment, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) or similar goods like measuring devices
  • Proven track records in Sales and Business Development with proven experience in managing Key Accounts and distributors in Middle East
  • Experience with running client onsite presentations, technical demos and trainings
  • Enthusiastic about promoting Safety and Environment protection solutions
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
  • Proven ability to work under pressure including the ability to cope with deadlines, multiple tasks, and competing demands
  • Good computer skills
  • Fluent in English & Arabic (verbal and writing)
  • Residence in the UAE
  • Willingness to travel in the Middle East at least 50%

What We Do

Distran develops and sells ultrasound cameras able to "see"​ ultrasounds: each of the 124 ultrasound sensors on the camera perceives incoming sounds with a slight shift of a fraction of a milliseconds. This allows the algorithms inside the camera to compute back the position of the sound source and to display it in real-time to the user. The principle is similar to antenna arrays used by astronomers or the military. Here, the device is hand-held and allows industrials to quickly spot faults such as gas leak in their installation, often comprising hundreds of kilometers of pipes and thousands of potentially leaky elements.
Beyond cost savings, this tool enables to increase industrial safety and decrease emission of green house gases.
