About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on leader to drive HR technology, operations, and total rewards in a fast-scaling, mid-sized startup. This role requires a builder’s mindset, problem-solving ability, and strong execution skills to drive HR automation, operational efficiencies, and seamless employee experience across multiple countries.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead HR Operations and HR Technology
-
Work together with a small team to ensure seamless delivery of HR services (e.g. on/offboarding activities, addressing employee enquiries, processing employee records, documentation etc.)

Own, drive, and continuously improve employee lifecycle processes, ensuring scalability, compliance, and automation across multiple markets

Lead HR technology, managing HRIS (e.g., Darwinbox) and automation tools to enhance efficiency and self-service capabilities

Proactively identify and resolve employee experience pain points by leveraging HR technologies and process enhancements
-
Develop and enforce HR operations policies, ensuring alignment with business needs and local labour regulations across multiple geographies

Champion a data-driven HR operations model, ensuring real-time analytics for better decision-making.
Rewards & Benefits Administration

Optimize and manage performance reviews, salary increments, promotions, bonuses, stock options, and benefits process and administration

Assist in compensation and benefits design and policy updates, ensuring competitiveness and compliance across different markets

Coordinate annual performance & rewards reviews, including internal salary analysis and external market research
HR Data & Insights

Lead HR data analytics efforts such as establishing a metrics-driven approach to HR operations and ensuring real-time insights into headcount planning, payroll costs, attrition, and workforce trends

Provide reporting and insights on headcount planning, payroll costs, attrition, and HR metrics to drive business and people strategy

Leverage automation & AI tools (e.g., Google Data Studio, Power BI) to enable self-service analytics for HR and business leaders.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management

Be a force multiplier – influence peers and direct reports to align with a common vision

Collaborate closely with other HR team members, Finance, IT etc., to build scalable, tech-enabled HR service models

Make quality decisions - Integrates various inputs, decision criteria, and trade-offs to make effective decisions

Mentor and develop HR team members, fostering a culture of ownership and innovation in HR operations
Qualifications
Must-Have:
-
8+ years of experience in leading HR services in mid-size companies (500-1000 employees), with strong exposure to employee lifecycle processes and labor regulations in Singapore & Malaysia

Demonstrated experience in managing HRIS deployment, maintenance, and enhancement, including vendor contracts & relationships

Hands-on experience designing scalable HR processes for diverse workforces (e.g., retail vs. office-based employees)

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, with strong data analysis & reporting skills
-
Highly tech-savvy, passionate about automation, and eager to experiment with AI-driven efficiency improvements

Strong verbal and written communication skills – Ability to logically articulate rationale, SOPs and HR policies, both written and verbally, and collaborate effectively with teammates in person or virtually
Good-to-Have:
-
Experience in other Asian markets (Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India)

Hands-on experience with Darwinbox or similar HR platforms

Knowledge in Google Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytics tools
-
Experience in deploying HR automation using macros/VBA, Google App Scripts, or GenAI

Keen interest in the design and deployment of compensation & benefits programme

Prior experience in high-growth tech startups or e-commerce environments
