As a Regional Distributor Manager in East Europe for Water Microbiology Diagnostics, you will build and manage the distributors' network and engage with public utilities, laboratories, and regulators to expand our water diagnostics line of business in the East Europe region. You will participate in the enhancement of people’s health by providing superior water quality testing methods.

IDEXX Water microbiological methods are distributed by an existing network of distributor partners in the East Europe region (from the Baltics to Greece and from the Czech Republic to Armenia + Commonwealth of Independent States). We are expanding geographically, extending our offers with new instruments, and enhancing our level of support to our distributors and final clients.
IDEXX Water is a global provider of water testing solutions. These solutions deliver easy, rapid, accurate, and cost-effective information on water quality. IDEXX entered the water testing market in 1993 with Colilert®, which is now one of the most frequently used testing methods to detect coliforms and E. coli in water. We also have products for the detection of Enterococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Cryptosporidium.
We have product approvals in over 60 countries worldwide and are currently approved in 16 of the 27 member states of the EU. Our core market is drinking water, but we are actively growing in different segments like bottled water, bathing/recreational water, hospitals, facilities and pools, and spas. We now have a suite of tests that enables us to meet the testing needs in multiple market segments globally. Our EMEA region includes Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. IDEXX's head office is in Maine, US, and the Water Division in Europe is supported by locations in the UK, the Netherlands, and France.
In this role:

You build and manage our existing network of distributors;

You will design, develop, and implement marketing strategies to drive demand for the IDEXX Water Diagnostics line of business by providing superior insight to our distributors and customers;

You will establish and maintain a network of key opinion leaders in the field supporting our business objectives;

You will create awareness on the market and promote our products through seminars, tradeshows, publishing articles, and other activities;

You will attend selected Water and professional organization meetings and establish relationships with key organizations to promote and enhance the IDEXX Water brand;

You will develop new accounts and generate new business from existing accounts;

You will visit with the distributor partners, public utilities, laboratories, and regulators around 50% of the time;

You will conduct some market studies;

You will install water analyzers, do some first level of maintenance and technical support;

You will be a part of the EMEA team and report to the Europe, Middle East, and Africa Sales Manager - Distribution, Water division;
What you need to succeed:

You have a BSc or MSc specializing in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related disciplines;

You have 5-10 years of experience and a network in the Water Supply or Wastewater industry;

You have experience in business development, sales, or distribution management;

You have a commercial mindset with an eye for marketing and business development opportunities;

You can hold a scientific discussion on subjects related to water quality and water diagnostics;

You have excellent organizational, business, and communication skills, including analytical ability, project management, and risk management;

You have an excellent command of English and another language spoken in East Europe, both verbally and in writing;

You have emotional intelligence and high ethical standards;

You have strong influencing skills and an autonomous work style;

You are willing to travel around 50% of the time (East Europe, CIS, and from time to time to the Middle East for equipment installations);

You can meet the physical demands of the job like driving a car extensively, traveling overnight if needed, and having flexibility for potential weekend work to attend tradeshows or an occasional meeting, lifting up to 30kg.
