Position Summary

We have experienced significant growth since our company was formed close to ten years ago and are looking for an experienced Director of Product to drive the development and improvement of our three core product offerings. You will direct products end-to-end, leading product strategy, managing execution across the product lifecycle, monitoring outcomes, and collaborating across teams. If you’re an innovative thinker who loves working with technology to make a difference, we want to hear from you!

The ideal candidate has experience beyond defining stories and developing features; we are seeking someone who has the interest and acumen to develop product roadmaps that drive significant business value.  This role has a planned growth trajectory to expand from a primary focus on one of the three product offerings to leading the strategy for all products under the Read-A-Thon umbrella. This position will initially manage one contractor and reports directly to the CEO.

This position is a hybrid role that can be done mostly remotely with periodic in-person meetings at our headquarters in Mansfield, TX (just south of Fort Worth) or in Nashville, TN.  Ideally, this position will be based in either Dallas-Fort Worth or Nashville, although we are open to other locations such as Austin, TX that are easily commutable for the occasional in-person meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Product Strategy: Define and execute the product roadmap for our three core product offerings, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • End-to-End Product Management: Oversee execution of the full product development cycle, from ideation, research, and design, to development, launch, and iteration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs.
  • User-Centric Focus: Gather customer feedback and market insights to continuously improve products and prioritize features that will have the greatest impact.
  • Business and Product Performance: Monitor product performance and business outcomes through data analytics, user feedback, and key business metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Innovate & Problem Solve: Bring creative solutions to complex challenges, keeping us ahead of industry trends and pushing boundaries to offer new value to our users.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a tech-driven or digital company
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-product portfolios, with a track record of successful product improvement and business growth
  • Experience with customer service design and optimizing the full customer lifecycle
  • Experience with data analysis, A/B testing, and outcome driven development
  • Experience working with a lean team in a small, entrepreneurial company where it’s necessary to wear many hats and leaders understand no job is too big or too small
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Experience with SaaS platforms and/or digital fundraising products is a plus
  • Local to Nashville, TN; Austin, TX or Fort Worth, TX is a plus

Character Traits and Skills

  • Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, from conception to release and tuning
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and align cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven decision maker, with a passion for using insights to drive product growth
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey ideas and strategies effectively
  • Enjoys doing well while doing good; desires to make a positive impact by doing quality work and solving challenges
  • Self-motivated to understand the big picture and proactively solve challenges
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to build trust and credibility with non-team members
  • Ability to guide outsourced teams, work across teams, and contribute to a collaborative team environment
