Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £41,800 to £48,000 and London £46,000 to £52,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

We are looking for someone to join the Department working in one of the two Insurance Reactive teams. Reactive teams are responsible for supervising 6500 firms.
You'll play an integral role in supervising a variety of firms in the Retail, Wholesale and Life Insurance Sectors. In addition, you will contribute to projects across the wider Department and Division that cut across firms and address key market issues.
What will you be doing?

Identify and mitigate conduct and prudential risks in insurance firms and markets; escalating as and when appropriate

Devising the content with firms' senior executives; overseeing firm actions and mitigation programmes

Review information provided by firms and other external sources to draw out and present key information

Use experience, knowledge and judgement to make risk-based decisions under supervision

Drive less complex cases and work plans forward to meet milestones and SLAs

Responsible for ensuring that INTACT (the FCA’s case handling system) is kept updated and provides a clear record of case and firm work plan history and progression

Minimum

Previous experience in the financial services sector, handling large data sets, developing strategies and resolving issues

Proven track record of working with business models, firms, and managing conduct risks within the financial industry

Experience of managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders

Experience of summarising information received from firms - drawing out key points and presenting them clearly in writing

Experience of engaging with firms and other external stakeholders

You will be proactive and be able to work on your own initiative

Being willing to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible pragmatic approach to your work

What We Do
We work to ensure financial markets work well for individuals, for businesses and for the economy as a whole.
We do this by:
- regulating the conduct of approximately 50,000 businesses
- prudentially supervising 48,000 firms
- setting specific standards for around 18,000 firms
We were set up on 1 April 2013, taking over conduct and relevant prudential regulation from the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
Our Head Office is based in London, and we work across the UK, from our office in Edinburgh and via colleagues in Belfast and Cardiff.
Firms and individuals must be authorised or registered by us to carry out certain activities. Before we grant authorisation, firms must demonstrate that they meet a range of requirements. We then supervise these firms to make sure they continue to meet our standards and rules after they’re authorised. If firms and individuals fail to meet these standards, we have a range of enforcement powers we can use.
We work alongside the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), the prudential regulator of around 1,500 banks, building societies, credit unions, insurers and major investment firms.
