React Native Developer

 Overview of the Role 

We are looking for a talented React Native developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will work primarily on building and maintaining modern, scalable mobile applications using React Native, contributing to a smooth and performant user experience across both iOS and Android platforms. This role is perfect for someone passionate about clean, maintainable code, mobile UI/UX best practices, and continuous improvement. Familiarity with native modules, state management libraries (like Redux), and performance optimization for mobile apps is a strong advantage. 

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. You and your manager will agree on the best working pattern that suits both of you. We’ll kit you out to work remotely, but we know that collaboration is key to our success, and spending quality time together helps us stay aligned with our mission. 

What you’ll do:   

• Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and modern JavaScript (ES6+) standards; 

• Build scalable and maintainable mobile UI components, with a strong focus on performance and mobile UX best practices; 

• Collaborate with designers, backend developers, product owners, and stakeholders to implement intuitive and user-friendly mobile solutions; 

• Integrate mobile apps with RESTful APIs, and other third-party services; 

• Write clean, reusable, and testable code following best practices in mobile development and architecture; 

• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize mobile app performance across devices and platforms; 

• Contribute to documentation, including component usage, architectural decisions, and mobile-specific guidelines; 

• Ensure device and OS compatibility, including various screen sizes, resolutions, and operating systems; 

• Participate in peer code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality and consistency across the mobile team; 

• Perform related duties as assigned. 

What you’ll bring:  

• Working Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in mobile development, with a strong focus on building applications using React Native 

• Proven track record of delivering scalable, maintainable, and high-quality frontend solutions in production environments 

• Experience working with modern TypeScript React Native’s development paradigms 

• Hands-on experience integrating mobile apps with RESTful APIs  

• Experience working with the WebView component for embedding web content, handling navigation events, and integrating with native functionalities when needed is a strong plus 

• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, accessibility, and platform specific design patterns 

• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows (e.g., GitHub/GitLab) 

• Experience in unit/integration testing for mobile apps (e.g., Jest, React Native Testing Library) is a plus 

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile, over-the-air updates, and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Firebase Performance); 

• Experience with native modules, and comfort working with platform-specific code (Java/Kotlin for Android, Swift/Objective-C for iOS) is a strong plus. 

Knowledge: 

• Strong knowledge of React Native and its ecosystem (Hooks, Context API, React Router, etc.) 

• Solid understanding of TypeScript 

• Good grasp of component-based architecture, mobile-navigation, and state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or similar) 

• Proficiency in layout and styling techniques for mobile apps 

• Proficient in version control using Git and working in collaborative Git-based workflows 

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs 

• Understanding of mobile performance optimization, accessibility, and security best practices for mobile apps 

• Experience with mobile testing tools (e.g., Jest, Detox) is a plus 

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, mobile build and deployment automations a plus 

• Working with Mono repo setups will be considered as a plus 

• Knowledge of native development (Swift/Objective-C for iOS, Java/Kotlin for Android) and creating custom native modules 

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment strategies (e.g., Firebase, AWS, App Store, Google Play); 

• Proficient in written and verbal English communication
