As the Financial Costing & Analytics Manager you will oversee R&D based cost allocation methodologies as related to project prioritization, government mandated submissions, government tax credits, intellectual property cross charging and industry and government-based survey submissions. You will also be responsible for managing oversight of financial reporting requirements for R&D Finance across both Power BI & SAC platforms. Your role will involve collaborating closely with various business, and finance teams to navigate various requirements and regulations association with these different activities and advancing capabilities.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in understanding the impact of changing cost base and updated strategies, changing Functional Structures to understand the impacts to both project based and overall portfolio FTE related costs. This includes quarterly and annual reviews of actual to plan costs for costs related to R&D resource allocations to R&D, ViiV, Global Health and Global Franchise markets. You will deliver insights and analysis that will shape periodic FTE cost related SLA’s and annual contract reviews. Your expertise will be instrumental in accelerating process changes, mitigating risks, and clarity in understanding changes in FTE costs over time.
In addition, you will find yourself working in a collaborative setting and using, your partnership skills to navigate and harmonize priorities across advancing the delivery of standard deployed and enhanced reporting to meet reporting needs across both portfolio and functional lenses.
This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career, these responsibilities include some of the following…
- To provide financial leadership across costing and FTE related methodologies. This includes role-based calculations and rates across all directorates and divisions to support project evaluations
- Work independently and across your team, leading key decision analytics support to the various parts of the R&D organization and across the Finance Partnering teams that support them. Will provide support as the first point of contact for key deliverables for the areas under his/her responsibility on all financial matters and submissions internally and externally
- Lead the finance calculations, methodologies and finance data collection aspects to support annual, periodic, and regular requests for analysis and information across many internal, and where supported, external channels
- Understand the impacts of tracking progress of planned spend to actual project spend over time, across project phases, and across and within project milestones
- Accountable for the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting related to his/her areas of responsibility and accountabilities
- Drive process improvements by assessing value of process and system capabilities and identifying opportunities to use newer technologies to deliver efficiency
- Fulfill impact of accounting and tax obligations (including impact assessments of legislative changes) on processes and methodologies and ensure stable IP processes with the business to ensure timely and accurate data delivery (including internal and external documentation)
- Build relationships across the business with strong stakeholder management, proactively gathering feedback and designing ways of working to assist with better business support models
- Direct management of (3) finance analysts, actively supporting growth and development
- Manages a team, in line with the GSK Values & culture, drive individual & team performance, ensure timely & quality recruitment, develop / coach / mentor the team members and create strong succession plans for key roles while fostering engagement and motivation in the team

- Experience in modelling, analysis, forecasting, strategic / scenario planning, and decision-making tools

- Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical Industry knowledge
- Understanding of financial systems and processes including SAP/CERPS, Hyperion, Power BI
- Track record of employing highly sound technical and business judgment in solving complex business problems with high risk & impact to the organization
- Demonstrated business skills with integrity and independent judgment to understand and identify the underlying business drivers
- Experience working in a global organization across a matrix environment and in cross-functional teams
