Group/Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA's products. KLA (Israel) controls over 80% of the world market sales in its field, and its products are used by every major semiconductor manufacturer around the world. KLA Israel is located in the Migdal Haemek Industrial Park.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced mechanical systems and components for our cutting-edge products.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design and development of new products, from concept to production.

Perform detailed mechanical design, including 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.

Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for structural, thermal, and flow simulations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.

Generate innovative designs incorporating precision mechanisms, pneumatic systems, opto-mechanical design, vibration isolation, cooling systems, and electronic packaging.

Oversee the procurement and assembly of prototypes, and support prototype system integration and testing.

Provide technical support for customer concerns and investigate malfunctions of new designs, including on-site support when necessary.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and apply them to improve product performance and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
-
BSc in Mechanical Engineering.

At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design in an R&D environment.

Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is an advantage).

Experience with FEA tools, such as ANSYS or SW simulation.

Strong understanding of physics, mechanics, and materials science.

Knowledge of precision mechanics design, including opto-mechanics, motorized systems and pneumatics.

Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication and welding.

Experience in the semiconductor or high-tech industry- advantage

Experience with Flow Simulation and Simulation Professional-advantage

Knowledge of vibration isolation methods-advantage

Knowledge of cooling systems design.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work efficiently under stress on multiple tasks.

Strong English oral and written communication skills.
