The R&D Engineering Intern - Mechanical program will consist of a robust induction plan followed by a 3-month internship across various facets of our Research & Development organization within the Sports Medicine Franchise at S+N.
What will you be doing?

Work closely with managers to complete specifically identified internship projects

Present project conclusion to senior leadership

Create documentation as required by the Smith and Nephew Quality Management System
What will you need to be successful?

Education:
-
Must be currently matriculated at an accredited university as an undergraduate Engineering program in Mechanical, Biomedical, and/or related Engineering field
-
Must be in excellent academic standing, with a 3.0 or above preferred

Experience:
-
Previous applicable intern, co-op, part-time or apprenticeship experience is preferred

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

High learning agility
-
Strong written and verbal communication and technical writing skills
-
Analytical approach to problem solving.

Experience in the medical device field or other regulated field
-
Design experience with mechanical design software packages, SolidWorks highly preferable.

Basic understanding and experience with process documentation for use in fabrication and assembly.

Basic knowledge of various fabrication methods and assembly techniques.

Knowledge of statistical methods
