Position Summary
The Railyard Transloading Supervisor is responsible for leadership and accountability for setting policy, processes, and procedures that lead to a safe and effective operation in railyard and transloading operations as well as leadership over facilities maintenance, upgrades, and updates in accordance with railroad and Company rules and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that train plan and terminal plan are in harmony to minimize arrival to spot times on inbound trains. Maintain sufficient time to efficiently load all outbound cargo and make on-time releases of outbound train, and reduce the amount of unproductive track time.
- Determine training requirements and implement training for all new employees and recurrent training for all other employees and contractors.
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by site operations manager.
- Supervising that loaders are wearing proper PPE when transloading chemicals.
- Complete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventory.
- Conduct inspections and trainings.
- Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other briefings. Share information from team members, management or customer.
- Perform structural inspections as required.
- Prepare equipment for product transfer.
- Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters.
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of regulations related to transportation. Ensure compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, client contracts, environmental policies, and government regulations.
- Develop and implement SOP, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivilant work experience
- Experience using Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemical Operator Experience
- Railyard Operations Experience

- Ability to maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule
- Ability to clearly organize and effectively convey information

- Climb onto top and underneath railcars in order to inspect and seal railcars using a checklist
- Flexibility required; ability to work days, nights, weekends
- Strong computer skills, including demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook email, etc.
- Extremely strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to learn quickly and problem solve
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee should be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
- Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Work Environment:
- This position operates outdoors the majority of the time and should be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
- This position routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, file cabinets, etc.

Salary Range:
Disclaimer: The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 annually. This range is based on market data and internal equity. The final offer will be determined by various factors, including the candidates experience, education, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
