Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
  • Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
  • In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
  • Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
  • Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.

What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc seeks Quantitative Developer in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

  • Develop algorithmic trading solutions in the equities electronic space using low-latency java.
  • Add new features to the algo trading engine, from a scheduling perspective, to enhance the client’s trading experience.
  • Work to help migrate existing legacy algos onto the new strategic platform by replicating the pre-existing features from the old stack onto the new one.
  • Perform data analysis, using tools such as kdb or python, to understand where further improvements can be made to increase the performance of the algos.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers in the software development lifecycle by participating in code peer review using Git.
  • Provide production support of the algos in real-time by identifying the root cause of the issue.
  • Work with the Product and Sales/Coverage teams to understand new client asks/requirements and to come up with implementation plans that can satisfy said requirements within the confines/constraints of the algo stack.
  • May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $175,000
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $250,000
